01 — 0301 / POWER
Three-phase power
Find the relationship between power, voltage and current.
The math behind it
S (kVA) = √3 × V (V) × I (A) / 1000
P (kW) = S (kVA) × PF
I (A) = S (kVA) × 1000 / (√3 × V (V))
PF = P (kW) / S (kVA)
Assumes a balanced three-phase AC load. Voltage is line-to-line, current is line current, and PF is dimensionless. Enter voltage and PF with any one known quantity.
02 / CONVERT
kW to MW
Same power. A different scale.
MW = kW / 1000 1 MW = 1000 kW
03 / ENERGY
Energy consumption
Understand what your equipment uses over time.
E (kWh) = P (kW) × hours/day × daysAssumes constant power during operating hours.
